Frequently asked questions

Answers about estimates, scheduling, materials, prep and caring for your wallpaper.

Estimates & scheduling

How do I request an estimate?

Send photos of the walls, the wall measurements and a link to your wallpaper (or the product name) by email to wallpaperinstallationexperts@gmail.com or by text to (206) 380-4118, or describe the project in the contact form. We review the details and contact you.

What areas do you serve?

Seattle, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Everett, Kenmore, Bothell, Woodinville, Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Sammamish, Issaquah, Newcastle, Renton, North Bend, Burien, Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Tacoma, Bonney Lake and nearby communities. See all locations.

What are your hours?

We answer calls and texts from 7 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.

Do I need to buy the wallpaper first?

Not necessarily. You can send the product link first so we can review the material, roll size and pattern repeat and confirm the quantity. You can also use our roll calculator.

What should I send with my request?

Photos of each wall (including corners, windows and any damaged areas or existing wallpaper), wall widths and heights, and the wallpaper link or product name with roll size and pattern repeat.

Can I send photos instead of an in-person visit?

Photos help us prepare and can give you a rough idea, but a firm written estimate is based on an on-site look at the walls, because prep needs are hard to judge from photos.

Wallpaper & materials

Can you hang wallpaper I bought online?

Yes. Send the product link before ordering so we can check the material, roll size and pattern repeat.

Is grasscloth hard to maintain?

It needs gentle care: dust it, keep it away from splashes and blot spills dry. See how to clean wallpaper.

Do you install peel-and-stick wallpaper?

Yes, on smooth, clean walls with fully cured paint.

Which wallpaper is best for a bathroom?

Vinyl or a nonwoven rated for humid rooms, with a working exhaust fan. See wallpaper in kitchens and bathrooms.

Prep & removal

Can you remove my old wallpaper?

Yes. We remove existing wallpaper and assess the surface underneath. Tell us whether you plan to install new wallpaper or use a different wall finish.

Can you hang wallpaper on textured walls?

Light texture can work under some heavier papers. Thin papers, murals and metallics usually need a smooth surface, so texture is part of the wall preparation we review.

Can you wallpaper over old wallpaper?

We do not recommend it. The new paste can release the old layer and cause bubbles and visible seams. Removal and proper prep give a lasting result.

What if my home was built before 1978?

Older painted surfaces may contain lead. Tell us when booking so we can plan testing and lead-safe practices before any scraping or sanding.

After installation

How long before I can hang art on new wallpaper?

Give the paste a day or two to cure before hanging pictures or shelves.

What should I do with leftover rolls?

Keep at least one roll, labeled with the room and batch number, flat and dry. It makes invisible repairs possible later.

Small bubbles appeared after installation — is that normal?

Small bubbles in the first day or two often flatten as the paste dries. If they stay, call us. See why wallpaper bubbles.
